For those of you who run VG models I would appreciate your experience of the size of the Camshaft Pulley.
Mine came loose some while ago and in so doing so, rounded the “pin holes” on the pulley which mate to the cam shaft and then broke the pins themselves.
I initially sorted it by re-drilling the “pin holes” at 90 degrees to the original but sought a new camshaft pulley in the meantime as mine had become slightly warped.
I found this one https://www.melun-retro-passion.com/gb/ ... -a310.html but then, fortunately, found an identical used one off another engine.
The diameter of the original pulley is 178 mm whilst this Melun one has a diameter of 152 mm and does not have the offset of my original. I hope the photos; the “new” one is painted blue, show what I mean.
I can’t use the blue one as it will not line up with the water pump double pulley and in any case will reduce the speed at which the water pump and ultimately the alternator will run.
May I ask if any of you have any thoughts please?

there are two different models of those pulleys for 1600cc-engines: R16 <-> R12 Gordini, R15TS and R17. The later one is mounted with a belt-tensioner (to be seen at Melun-Retro's offer).

At your 1600VG a Renault 16TX engine 843 is mounted which has no tensioner, hence at 1600VE and 1600VF it's an 844 type of engine according to R17-layout with tensioner and the smaller pulley.
