A310 VE engine power (Puissance A310 VE)

Good evening, :hello:

Recently, I found a video from "Dijon Gestion Moteur" on youtube, where a A110 1600 S was engine tested.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDUlMds8-LU

This engine (844.30) is shared with the A310 VE, correct?. Because I was surprised by the results and its application to a A310 VE berlinette:
Depending on the source, power in this engine ranges from 138-140 CV SAE, which translates in about 125-127 CV DIN.
The car in the video already had 137 CV, and after installing a transistorized ignition system and some tuning the power went to 153 CV (nearly 100 CV/L).

There's no information of the level of tuning of the engine before the test, but these figures are impressive.
Anyone here can confirm if this is possible?

Thanks!

Re: A310 VE engine power (Puissance A310 VE)

Hello El Leci,

for sure 100 Hp/L is somehow the maximum power you can expect for a naturally aspirated engine, but it means this power will be acheived at rather high rpm, wich is the case in the video, also maximum torque is acheived above 5000 rpm.

long duration camshafts with big overlap, and a well tuned intake duct length will do the job, here you can see that it is well tuned, 3 pics on the troque curve with the last one just on the max power rpm.

the benefit of the tunig done here, despite the gain of max torque and power, is the gain of torque below 2000 rpm, wich leads to a more drivable car on the street.
